Apple iPad Pro With 4K Display Now In Development By Foxconn

Apple iPad Pro With 4K Display Now In Development By Foxconn | Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV) | Scoop.it

When Tim Cook says Apple has "Big Plans" for 2014, perhaps what consumers can look forward to is the high resolution in their new products.

According to latest rumors, Apple will be producing the "iPad Pro" with a 4K Retina display.

There are reports coming from supply chains in China claiming that Foxconn has already display a model for the 12.9-inch 2K iPad Pro, and is currently developing the 4K model and the display resolution could be 4096x3072 pixels.

If we were to ask the more essential question: Other than watching high resolution movies, what would you do with an insanely high resolution iPad?

Well, Duke University researchers are developing a 1 billion pixel camera that would capture photos with incredible details.

Other than that, with breakthroughs in medical imaging and virtual 3D models, the high resolution just might be useful in such 'Pro' situations.

How to build a 4K Hackintosh on the cheap for fun and profit

How to build a 4K Hackintosh on the cheap for fun and profit | Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV) | Scoop.it

Over the years, building ‘Hackintosh’ computers has become both a lot easier and more popular.

For those unfamiliar, a Hackintosh is essentially a machine running OS X on non-Apple approved and manufactured hardware.

There are many reasons to build a Hackintosh instead of buying a Mac directly from Apple.

They can be more expandable, faster, have more features and configurations, run quieter and can be a great learning experience.

One of the biggest reasons to go down the road of building your own, however, is price.

It’s no secret that Apple charges a premium for its products, especially if you don’t need some of the hardware (Thunderbolt for example).

And thanks to the ongoing growth of the Hackintosh community, the process has become very easy over the past few years.

A new Mac Pro wasn’t the only thing coming out of Apple recently.

They also introduced a major new update for their NLE, Final Cut Pro X.

This 10.1 update adds a number of features, including more 4K software and hardware support, optimized dual-GPU performance, native support for more camera files, and the ability to upload 4K videos directly to YouTube.

Perhaps the biggest addition, however, is a change in the way FCPX organizes projects, which should make for much better project and media management.

Apple 5K Retina Display Coming? | Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV) | Scoop.it

With the new Mac Pro packed with enough power to run three 4K displays at once, it’s reasonable to question where those 4K displays are coming from.

While there are a few 4K monitors available now, there are none from Apple.

The 27″ LED Cinema Display offers 2560 x 1440 resolution; however, that’s still a far cry from full 4K resolution at 4096 x 2160, or UHD 4K at 3840 x2160.
