Ultra-high expectations for Panasonic tablet

Ultra-high expectations for Panasonic tablet | Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV) | Scoop.it

Panasonic has become the world’s first company to offer a tablet with a 4K, ultra-high-resolution display, but that ultra-high quality comes at an ultra-high price.

The Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 may not have the catchiest name, but there’s a good chance that what it has to offer – a 20-inch screen – will catch on, especially with the architectural and creative industries plus tech-obsessed early adopters with big bags and even bigger pockets – it will retail for US$6000.

Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 Tablet Official

The Panasonic Toughpad UT-MB5 will feature a 20” display with a 4K UHD display resolution.

It will also be powered by an Intel processor clocked at 1.9GHz, with 256GB of SSD storage, 8GB of RAM, a USB 3.0 port, an SD card slot, and a smart card reader.

It basically sounds like you’d be lugging around a monitor with you all day long.

In any case give the tablet’s hardware specs, not to mention the 4K display, don’t expect stellar battery life as Panasonic estimates about 2 hours of use before its battery is depleted.

It will be available in early 2014 and will retail for US$6000.

Quite amazing!
