It features two components.
A cylindrical camera unit attaches to an earpiece, allowing the user to wear the camera near their face.
The camera unit is then tethered to a larger base unit, which presumably houses the processing power of the 4K camera.
Imagine how big that would be if Panasonic tried to stuff everything into a single unit.
That makes it even more impressive to think about what GoPro has done with its compact form factor, which has been around for years now.
IBM today announced that it has achieved a new technological advancement that will help improve Internet speeds to 200 - 400 Gigabits per second (Gb/s) at extremely low power. The speed boost is based on a device that can be used to improve transferring Big Data between clouds and data centers four times faster than current technology. At this speed 160 Gigabytes, the equivalent of a two-hour, 4K ultra-high definition movie or 40,000 songs, could be downloaded in only a few seconds. The device was presented at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) in San Francisco.
The ZXV10 B803 is designed based on the Broadcom BCM 7252 chip, and supports 4Kx2KP60 decoding capability, which can decode Ultra HD video with the maximum resolution of 3840×2160.
In comparison to traditional HD Internet STBs, the 4K UHD STB can display more vivid and precise images to significantly enhance the user experience.
Its UHDTV specification can deliver a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, and the maximum Full Aperture 4K specification reaches 4096×3112.
AJA has announced availability of Io 4K, a new pro I/O, updated for Thunderbolt-2 4K workflows.

Samsung will start offering its European customers a UHD Starter Kit with 50 movies in 4K resolution this March.
The 1TB hard drive will sell for 299 Euro, according to Samsung
We discussed the many aspects of UHD including larger color space, high dynamic range, higher frame rates in addition to the increased resolution. I talked about how at Iowa Public Television, we work in an uncompressed environment when creating shows in our studio and how that has simplified our infrastructure. But as I look forward to implementing UHD, even at a relatively small facility, the laws of physics and the laws of economics seem to be conspiring against the concept of the uncompressed backbone.By Bill Hayes, director of engineering for Iowa Public Television.

After attempts to hawk 3-D and OLED TVs fizzled in recent years, television manufacturers are taking small steps toward making a new technology, Ultra HD, more viable for mainstream consumers. It's the first TV format to be driven by the Internet video-streaming phenomenon, and at the International CES gadget show this week, major streaming players Netflix and Amazon said they'll offer movies and TV shows in the format, and Sharp introduced a relatively inexpensive TV with near-Ultra HD quality. The moves are meant to coax consumers to pedal faster on their TV upgrade cycles. At the moment, most Americans buy new TVs about once every seven years. TV manufacturers would love to create another wave of buying like the one that sent millions of people to stores a few years ago to upgrade from standard definition, tube TVs to flat-screen HD models.
With 4K and Ultra HD TVs all the rage at CES 2014 the only thing missing was content for them.
Now Comcast and Samsung have teamed up in order to fill the gap with Samsung streamlining the process of getting 4K content for consumers via an Xfinity 4K app for their televisions.
Comcast is attempting to get support from the networks and stations supported by Xfinity, including NBCUniversal.

South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. took more than half of the North American market for Ultra HD TVs last month, data showed Monday.
Around this time last year, TV manufacturers trumpeted the arrival of 4K ultra-high-definition televisions. The pricey and often humongous TVs pack in four times as many pixels as top-of-the-line HD sets. But new technology often faces a chicken-and-egg problem. Even if you bought a 4K UHD TV, what would you watch on it? Very few movies support the new resolution. Some Blu-ray players promise to convert regular high-definition video to something approximating ultra high definition, but such techniques are stopgap solutions while TV makers wait for Hollywood to catch up. Instead, online companies such as Netflix and YouTube have taken the lead.
Curved TVs gained popularity in late 2013 and are picking up momentum in the high-end segment, with vendors expected to release new units throughout 2014.
Additionally, previously it was difficult for upstream component makers to make curved LCD TV products but due to developments, most notably in LCD modules, TV vendors have more options.
Japan’s public broadcaster NHK has a small technical team at the Sochi Winter Olympics testing and recording events in 8K, Super Hi-Vision.
The engineers have built a special theatre in the main Olympic complex at Sochi and equipped it with a Panasonic 145” display, plus 22.2-channel surround sound.
From the World Cup to Netflix, in 2014 you're going to start hearing a lot more about 4K resolution or 'Ultra HD.'
But what is it?
And more importantly, do you want it?
Over the last couple of months murmurings swirled that electronics companies and TV networks were teaming up to record and show the Sochi Olympics in 4K. After a bit of digging, TechRadar learned that the Olympics would indeed be shot in 4K and even 8K.However, these UHD Olympic takes won't be viewable to the general public save for those visiting NHK-sponsored public viewings in Japan. Otherwise, most of the footage will only be shown at special press viewing parties and other private events, making Sochi's 4K a more closed-off affair than the Super Hi-Vision (SHV) cinemas hosted by the BBC for the 2012 London Games.

The ultra-high-definition resolutions is incoming not only to televisions and PC monitors, but also to mobile devices.
Next year the first smartphones with displays featuring 3840*2160 resolution will hit them market.
Obviously, such handsets will be rather rare, but even in this case their shipments will reach tens of millions of units.
Television manufacturers say more giant screens will be glowing across the country on Super Bowl Sunday than any other day of the year. But by the time the best football teams in the NFL clash again next year, your view of the game and all those creative ads may be completely different. Best Buy Home Theater Supervisor Ted Gustafson says he finds a lot of people standing in the back of the store, mesmerized as they stare into the new 4-K or Ultra High Definition Television.

Sales are declining and once that happens, getting them going again is difficult.
